Grove City Arts Council meets the third Tuesday of each month except December. After a short business meeting, we often host special programs. For example, in 2014, the group was addressed by Michael Cooley, an incredible medical illustrator and art school instructor. We also hosted Dave Terry and his business partner, expert art restorers. They gave us an enlightening education about how to prepare artwork to make it last and avoid future problems as well as how to repair damage.
In 2015, the Grove City Writers Guild treated us to an entertaining evening and glimpse
into another element of the arts and humanities. Phenomenal sculptor, muralist and portrait artist, Vasiliev Nini, shared his paintings and ceramic sculptures. The group will be learning a new artistic technique in May and hold a swap meet of arts & craft items in June.
In 2016 a field trip to Glass Axis art Studio is being planned for March. The council will also host Ohio Paper Folders in March and participate in an origami class.
After the May 2016 meeting, Robbie Hay demonstrated body painting on a model. Robbie is a skilled and in demand face and body painter with many years of experience.
